Mad Thrills: Y3LLO

Coming out of Myanmar, Y3LLO is one of the most promising young talents in Asia to have played with top acts from around the world. Be sure to catch him at Mad Thrills next week with Inquisitive at WAN in Singapore.

But before that we sat down with him to ask him about his journey.

ADM: How did you get your start in DJing?

Y3: I have always been a passionate learner of music since I was a child. I began learning how to play the piano since I was five. This inspired me to learn how to DJ and music production around the age of 13. My friends Fakecake and JD’s performance at a school charity event truly inspired me to become a Dj and a music producer. I would never forget the scene of how my friends performed as well as how they interacted with the crowd which was truly mesmerizing.

ADM: Being one of the youngest top DJs in Myanmar what would you say is the most difficult part of your journey so far?

Y3: As a new artist, I faced numerous challenges and difficulties when I first started especially getting my name out there among the people. However, this is no longer my problem now. The real problem that I’m facing now is handling my fame in my country. It is good that I’m now a prominent artist in Myanmar’s music industry but at the same time I have to be careful with anything I say or do in public.

ADM: Having had a sold out tour and playing for top Dance Music acts around the world what is next for you?

Y3: It is a true blessing that people love my music. I am deeply humbled by the fact that I have sold out shows in my country as well as making it to the top music charts. My goal at this point in time is to be not only a successful local artist but also to become a prominent international artist.

ADM: Any advice for young aspiring DJs out there who look up to you?

Y3: Be Humble, Have Patience, Believe in yourself and don't let anyone stop you from what you want to be.

Be sure to catch him at Mad Thrills on 31st August in Singapore
